about us

Who we are

LEAB of Eau Claire is the city’s first Lived Experience Advisory Board. We are a group of people who knows what it’s like to experience homelessness, because we’ve been there.
We’ve come together to support each other, speak up, and make things better for our community.
We believe people closest to the problem should be leading the solutions.

WHAT WE DO

LEAB builds community through hands-on, collaborative work, including:

  • Leading art and writing workshops that amplify voices and foster self expression
  • Holding weekly meetings to share lived experiences, exchange knowledge, advance group projects, and stay connected
  • Hosting themed monthly community lunches to celebrate individual wins, hold space for each other, lifting each other up, and rebuilding dignity together.

Goal

why it matters

When people who have lived through homelessness, poverty, and systemic failure are part of the conversation, the conversation changes. LEAB brings perspective that data can’t. We speak from the frontlines, not the sidelines. Our voice pushes for solutions that actually work because we lived through the ones that didn’t.
